A tremendous opportunity has been granted to a pair of Marian University junior left-handers as Sam Forkert and Brandon Winfield have both signed full season contracts with the Northwoods League. The prestigious summer wood bat collegiate baseball league is comprised of mostly NCAA Division I talent.

The Sabres left 11 runners on base as the Lawrence University Vikings came away with the, 2-1, seven-inning non-conference victory at Whiting Field. Rain postponed the second game in what was originally scheduled as a doubleheader.
