FOND DU LAC - A trio of student-athletes from the Marian University baseball program have earned roster spots on various Northwoods League teams for the upcoming summer.

Left-handed junior pitcher Ty Peccioli (Gurnee, Ill.) has earned a spot on the Madison Mallards after a breakout season on the bump.  Peccioli opened the season as a reliever but quickly made a name for himself as a starter for the Sabres.  The lefty appeared in nine games this season, four starts, recording a 4-1 record with a 2.56 earned run average over 38.2 innings pitched.  Peccioli struck out 34 hitters during the year putting him second on the team with a 7.91 strikeouts per nine innings average.  In his four starts, he tossed 26.1 innings only allowing eight earned runs for a 2.73 earned run average to go with 27 punch outs.  His most notable appearance came against Aurora where Peccioli tossed 8.0 innings only allowing six hits and one earned run.  He went on to strike out 12 hitters as Marian defeated Aurora 6-1.

Right-handed sophomore pitcher Zachariah Sandoval (Santee, Calif.) will remain in Fond du Lac to represent Sabre baseball as a Dock Spider after a strong sophomore campaign.  Sandoval was named a first-team All-NACC selection in 2018 after leading Marian with 66.0 innings pitched, four complete games and a 1.91 earned run average.  The sophomore also went on to lead the Sabres with 47 punch outs on the season to only 20 walks.  Sandoval went on to a 4-4 record during the year starting in all nine games he appeared in.  His final four starts of the regular season were especially strong as he went 33.0 innings only allowing two earned runs for a 0.55 earned run average to go with 30 strikeouts.  Against Rockford, Sandoval tossed a complete game only allowing two hits and one unearned run while punching out eight hitters.  Sandoval was also named the NACC Pitcher of the Week three times during the season.

Right-handed junior pitcher Jordan Bock (Sugar Grove, Ill.) earns a Northwoods League roster spot for a second consecutive season and will play for the Bismarck Larks this season after spending time as a Dock Spider last season.  Bock proved to be a useful asset for the Sabres as both a starter and a reliever as he went on to log 53.0 innings and led Marian with 11 appearances.  The junior went 4-3 on the year and compiled a 4.42 earned run average to go with 36 strikeouts, second on the team.  In every appearance this season, Bock logged multiple innings of work including a pair of complete-game victories.  In his complete-game effort against Dominican this year, Bock only allowed two earned runs and scattered eight hits as he led Marian to a road sweep of the Stars.  Heading into his senior campaign, Bock has tossed 168.1 innings with 105 strikeouts and a 3.90 earned run average.

"We are excited about the opportunity each has earned, they are all great representatives of our program and Marian University," commented head coach Jordan Baitinger.  "They each have worked extremely hard and have grown tremendously over the course of the year.  To have the opportunity to compete against and play with the best collegiate baseball players in the country is an honor that they truly have earned.  We are excited for them all to get the opportunity to experience the dedication and grit it takes to compete at a higher level.  Having three players earn roster spots in the Northwoods League really demonstrates the growth occurring in our program."
