The 2017 season will mark the 11th for Bryan Burgert as an assistant on the program's staff and second as a full-time coach. Coach Burgert's duties include serving as the pitching coach, while being responsible for the team's recruiting efforts.
In his first season as full-time assistant in 2013, the pitching staff compiled a 3.76 ERA, which ranked 10th all-time in Marian's storied history. Other achievement's for the staff included the sixth-most strikeouts (240), fourth-fewest walks (107) and fifth-fewest hits (306) allowed in Marian annals.
Burgert played under Coach Bartlet from 2003-06. His senior year, he was a First Team All-Lake Michigan Conference selection, as well as being named the Team MVP. He served as captain his senior season. Burgert compiled an impressive 7-1 record his senior year, leading the team in innings pitched (66.1), ERA (2.85), opponents’ batting average (.208) and was third in strikeouts (30). Burgert currently holds the all-time record for winning percentage at Marian as he finished with an 11-3 (.786) career mark.
Bryan and his wife, Kristin, currently reside in Oshkosh.
