What's on the Line
The Sabres and Warriors are currently seventh and eighth in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference standings and this contest has direct implications on postseason positioning. Both teams are less than two games out of third place.
About the Sabres
The Sabres are receiving plenty of support in the backcourt from senior Alex Stecker and sophomore Reggie Roemer. Stecker averages 10.8 points per game, but more importantly he distributes the bell well and averages 3.7 assists per game. Roemer has simply been dynamic for head coach Mark Boyle. Roemer averages 12.1 p.p.g and hits 47.7 percent of his shots. Sophomore Alex Manhardt joined the roster at semester and the 6-foot-6 forward averages 15.9 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. Another weapon at MU's disposal is junior Josh Creed. The Chicago native averages 17.2 points and 6.9 rebounds per contest – both team highs.
Scouting the Warriors
WLC uses a balanced offensive attack to test their opponents. Freshman Collin Kennedy stepped in immediately and became a go-to player. He averages 18.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. However, Kennedy isn't the most effective player on the roster. That distinction belongs to Jim Marose. Marose' 67 percent field goal percentage ranks first in the NACC, while his 10.4 rebounds per game ranks second.
