Marian finishes fourth in final NACC Championship tuneup

KENOSHA, Wis. - In their final tuneup before the final rounds of the NACC Championship, Marian University men's golf finished fourth at the Carthage Spring Invite with a score of 310.

Senior Ryonen Faris once again led the Sabres finishing in a tie for third after shooting a 73.  Fellow seniors Travis Heyroth and Brandon Wolff finished in the top-25 with Heyroth shooting a 77 to finish in a tie for 20th and Wolff finishing tied for 25th shooting a 79.

Freshman Aaron Rick closed out the scoring for the Sabres with an 81, good for a tie for 40th.  Senior Zach Gutzman also competed for the Marian team shooting a 90.

As individuals, sophomores Jake Howie and James Mathias shot an 87 and 90, respectively.

Host Carthage took home the team and individual title finishing with a 295 as a team with Matt Lynch shooting a 71 to earn the individual title.

Marian travels to Stonebridge Country Club April 23-24 for the final rounds of the NACC Championship.  The Sabres enter the final rounds with a one stroke advantage over Aurora.
