Vorva and cross earn spot on D3Hockey.com Team of the Week

FOND DU LAC - After already being named the NCHA Players of the Week, juniors Hunter Vorva and Clay Cross of No. 12/13 Marian University men's hockey have been named to the D3Hockey.com Team of the Week.

Vorva (Kalamazoo, Mich.) helped lead Marian to a pair of victories to open the season. Vorva opened the weekend with 20 saves against Trine and then stood on his head to lead the Sabres past No. 2 Adrian with a career-high 46-save performance. The Kalamazoo, Mich. native totaled 66 saves on the weekend with a 1.50 goals against average to go with a .957 save percentage.  Vorva also held the Bulldogs scoreless on all six power play opportunities.

Cross (Glendale, Ariz.) recorded four points on the weekend as the Sabres opened the season with wins over Trine and No. 2 Adrian. Cross had three goals on the weekend including both game-winners to go with an assist. Cross had multi-point games in both victories with a goal and an assist against the Thunder and his second-career multi-goal game against the Bulldogs.

Marian opens their first homestand of the season hosting Lake Forest Friday, Nov. 9 for a 7 p.m. puck drop from Blue Line.
