Sabre men's lacrosse opens busy stretch with 18-7 loss at CUW

MEQUON, Wis. - Marian University men's lacrosse opened a stretch of five games in eight days falling to Concordia Wisconsin 18-7.

Sophomore Connor Houlihan and freshman Finn Maloney each scored in the first quarter as Concordia Wisconsin took an early 4-2 lead.  The Falcons then outscored Marian 10-2 in the middle quarters with sophomore Jeremy Eisele and Tommy Gerlach scoring the Sabre goals.

Marian had a strong fourth quarter only being outscored 4-3 with sophomore Nick Klotz, freshman Colt Robertson, and Maloney all scoring goals.

Gerlach led the Sabres with three ground balls in the defeat, while freshman Tyler Holmes was able to force multiple turnovers.  Freshman Johnny Estrada faced 32 shots making 15 saves in 55:48 of action.  Sophomore Dan Liberko made three saves on four shots in 4:12 of action in goal as well.

Marian returns home to take on North Central (Minn.) tomorrow, Thursday, April 18, at 7 p.m. in MLC action.
