Raiders too much for Sabre men's volleyball

Coach fires them up

MILWAUKEE - MSOE came out of the gates fast as the Raiders defeated Marian University men's volleyball (4-6, 0-2 NACC) 25-11, 25-9, 14-25 and 25-17.

The Raiders hit .611 in the opening set and followed that up with a .667 hitting percentage in the second set as they were able to cruise to a 2-0 lead over the Sabres.  Marian bounced back, however, hitting .192 in the third set as they were able to force a fourth.  The Sabres jumped out to a 9-4 lead and never let MSOE score multiple points in a row the remainder of the set.

The Marian rally would be short-lived as the Raiders bounced back in the fourth set with a .312 hitting percentage as they were able to secure the NACC win.

Junior Jon Smallpage led the team with nine kills to go with two solo blocks and two assisted blocks.  In the back row, junior Cullen Liberski had a team-high nine digs.

Marian takes on Illinois Tech Wednesday, Feb. 14 for a 7 p.m. first serve.
