MEQUON, Wis. - The Marian University softball (19-9, 7-5 NACC) offense had a tough day at the dish falling 8-0 in five innings and 3-2 at Concordia Wisconsin in NACC play.
The opener was all Concordia Wisconsin as the Falcons held the Sabres hitless and used a seven-run fourth inning to pull away. The Falcons would end the game via the mercy rule in the fifth inning. CUW was able to record 12 hits in the win and took advantage of four Sabre errors in the win.
The Falcons were able to jump out early to start game two with a two-run third inning. The Sabre offense was finally able to push across some runs with a two-RBI single from senior Nicole LaBeck that plated sophomores Lindsey Strainis and Olivia Hartley.
Concordia Wisconsin was able to break the tie in the bottom of the fifth and the Sabres were able to only manage one base runner the rest of the way as CUW completed the sweep.
Sophomore Ally Fox was the lone Sabre to have a multi-hit game going 2-4 in the game two loss. Freshman Paige Rauhut (8-3) put together a solid line in the circle only allowing seven hits and striking out four in the complete game loss.
Marian looks to bounce back hosting Alverno Monday, April 17 for a 3 p.m. doubleheader.
