LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Sophomore Ally Fox of Marian University softball added to her season accolades earning a spot on the All-Great Lakes Region second team, as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
Fox (Greenville, Wis.) was a spark plug at the top of the Marian lineup all season long and already earned a spot on the All-NACC first team earlier in the offseason for a second straight year. Fox led the Sabres in batting average this season and ranked third in the NACC hitting at a .433 clip. When on base, Fox became an even more useful weapon as she led the NACC with 28 stolen bases on the year and was never caught stealing. The left-handed slapper was held hitless in only four of the 35 games she started in compiling 17 multi-hit games. One of her best games of the season came in the finale of the Concordia Wisconsin series where she went 5-for-5 with three runs scored and three driven in. Fox had at least one steal in 16 games this year and had nine games where she stole multiple bases. She also led Marian, sixth in the NACC, in scoring with 35 runs scored in only her second season.
