KENOSHA, Wis. - Marian University track and field closed out the indoor portion of their season competing at the NACC indoor championships from Carthage College.
Kadeesha Duncan had a strong pair of races to lead the Marian women finishing 16th in the 200-meter at 29.85 and 11th for the 400-meter dash at 1:07.12. Brenda Ordonez and Adellie Requena each competed in both of those events as well with Ordonez finishing 19th in the 200-meter at 31.5 and 16th for the 400-meter at 1:10.85, while Requenna earned a 23rd place finish at 34.74 for the 200-meter and a 19th place finish for the 400-meter at 1:20.68.
In the 55-meter dash, Mia McDonald led the Sabres with a 16th place finish at 8.51, and Jamille Banks was right behind her in 18th with a time of 8.98. The longer distance races saw Alyssa Zuhlke finish 13th for the mile at 6:26.06 and 16th in the 3,000-meter at 12:52.54.
Emily Grunwald led the Sabres in the field events finishing in 20th place for both the shot put (8.87 meters) and weight throw (8.80 meters). Kamajjae Patterson was next for the shot put finishing in 23rd with a toss of 8.32 meters, while Gabrielle Ramczyk finished in 23rd for the weight throw (7.87 meters) and 26th in the shot put (6.34 meters).
On the men's side of things, Nathaniel Sampson paced Marian finishing in 15th for the 55-meter dash at 6.98 and 16th in the 400-meter at 54.70. Malik Tapp was also able to finish 22nd for the 55-meter dash clocking in at 7.16. Josiah Kusik finished in 21st for the 400-meter at 57.24 and 22nd for the 800-meter at 2:16.28.
Jacob Leiden once again competed in the mile and 800-meter finishing in 14th for the mile at 5:02.79 and 24th for the 800-meter at 2:22.62. Jarod Silhavy closed out the meet for the Sabres with an 18th place finish in the mile at 5:36.45 and a 21st place finish in the 3,000-meter at 12:30.46.
Marian is scheduled to open the outdoor season at the Carroll Private Colleges Meet Sunday, April 7.
