Sabre women's basketball hangs tight with Concordia Chicago

RIVER FOREST, Ill. - Marian University women's basketball (0-4, 0-2 NACC) dropped the season finale with Concordia Chicago by a 46-35 final.

The Sabres were able to hang tight with the Cougars in the opening half as CUC led by a slim 21-20 margin.  Marian outscored the Cougars 12-10 in the second quarter where they shot 5-14 (.357) from the field.  The Sabres opened the strong quarter scoring the first 10 points.

Concordia Chicago was able to build on their lead in the third quarter where they outscored Marian 14-7.  The Cougars were then able to hold onto this lead to earn the NACC victory.

Freshman Paris Harris had another strong showing scoring a game-high 14 points off 6-12 (.500) shooting from the field to go with nine rebounds. Senior Rachel Serchen added 12 points to go with four steals and a block.

Marian returns home when the Sabres host MSOE Saturday, December 1 for a 2 p.m. tip from Sadoff Gym.
