FOND DU LAC - Marian University women's basketball (0-5, 0-3 NACC) outscored MSOE 14-9 in the third quarter but fell to the Raiders by a 62-50 final.
MSOE opened fast taking a 20-14 lead over the Sabres but Marian opened the second half strong to cut into that deficit. The Sabres were able to open the second quarter with a 9-4 run to cut the deficit down to one, but the Raiders answered extending their lead out to 33-25 heading into halftime.
The Sabres then put together their best quarter of the game using a 10-2 run to open the third quarter and tie the game at 35-35. Marian eventually was able to take their first lead of the game at 39-38 with 2:25 left in the quarter following a layup from junior Brianna Horton. MSOE would manage to score a pair of baskets to close out the quarter and take a 42-39 advantage into the fourth quarter.
The Raiders were able to put together another strong offensive quarter in the fourth outscoring Marian 20-11 and sealing the 62-50 NACC win.
Junior Rachel Serchen led the way for Marian with a game-high 13 points, while freshman Paris Harris chipped in 12 points and a game-high eight rebounds, all of which were defensive. Harris and Horton along with senior Sarah Schultz and junior Carley Wilson were able to record multiple steals as the Sabre defense forced 21 MSOE turnovers.
Marian hits the road Tuesday, December 4 for a 7 p.m. tip against Rockford in NACC action.
