Muskies too much for Sabre women's basketball

FOND DU LAC - Marian University women's basketball (1-18, 1-13 NACC) fell to Lakeland by a 71-43 final in NACC action.

The Sabres would only trail by six points after the opening quarter before Lakeland outscored Marian 20-6 in the second period to pull away.  Marian was able to bounce back in the fourth quarter where they were able to outscore Lakeland 15-12.

Marian finished the game shooting 18-57 (.316) from the field with the defense holding Lakelnad to 25-65 (.385) shooting.

Senior Molly Magnus was the lone Sabre to reach double-figures for points with 11, while also grabbing five rebounds with two assists.  Freshman Paris Harris and senior Rachel Serchen each chipped in eight points with Serchen also recording five steals.

Marian hits the road for a make-up game Monday, January 28 at Aurora for a 7 p.m. tip to conclude a span of three games in six days.
