Lindsey Strainis gets ready to cover the puck.

DULUTH, Minn. - Marian University women's hockey (0-4-0, 0-2-0 NCHA) was able to force overtime but fell to St. Scholastica by a 1-0 final.

The Sabre offense was able to produce 16 shots in the defeat with junior Morgan Bolin leading Marian with five shots.  In the faceoff circle, senior Hailey Miller had a strong game winning 14 of her 23 draws.

Defensively, the Sabre penalty kill held the Saints scoreless on their first three power plays but St. Scholastica was able to score on their final power play opportunity.  Senior Lindsey Strainis (0-4-0) was brilliant in goal stopping 66 St. Scholastica shots.

Marian returns home next weekend taking on Concordia Wis. Saturday, Nov. 10 at 5 p.m. from Blue Line.
