Sabre women's hockey falls to Lake Forest 5-0 in final home game

FOND DU LAC - Marian University women's hockey (5-15-3, 4-10-2 NCHA) fell to Lake Forest in their final home game of the season by a final of 5-0.

The Sabres would skate evenly with the Foresters in the opening period with neither team finding the back of the net.  Lake Forest was then able to score two goals in the third and three goals in the third period to complete all the scoring for the game.  The second period goals were separated by only 2:05, while two of the goals in the third period were only 15 seconds apart.

Senior Lindsey Strainis took the loss in goal making 42 saves as Marian was outshot 47-25.  In the second period, Strainis was able to stop 17 Forester shots.

Marian hits the road for nationally-ranked Adrian Saturday, February 16 at 6 p.m. (CST) to open their final series of the season.
