Charity Hertel battles for the ball.

MONTGOMERY, Ill. - Marian University women's soccer (5-8-0, 2-4-0 NACC) was shutout for only the second time this season falling to Aurora 2-0.

The Sabre offense had a tough time finding shots as Marian would only manage three shots in the defeat.  Freshman Olivia Meerdink had a pair of those shots with senior Reilly Louko recording the third.

Freshman Amy Birner (2-2-0) made seven saves in goal for Marian, six of which came in the first half, marking the third straight game she has recorded five or more stops.  The first goal Birner allowed was an own goal off of a corner kick.

Marian remains on the road traveling to Illinois Tech Wednesday, Oct. 10 for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
