Marian women's soccer stops skid against Alverno

FOND DU LAC - Marian University women's soccer (6-9-0, 3-5-0 NACC) scored 11 goals against Alverno to defeat the Inferno 11-1 in NACC action.

The Sabres had three student-athletes record multiple goals as the Marian offense fired 52 shots in the victory.  Freshman Olivia Meerdink had a nine-point game to lead Marian with four goals and one assist.  Sophomore Alicia Balken and Shannon Coughlin each had multiple goals as well with Coughlin adding in an assist. 

Junior Allyson VanZeeland, senior Reilly Louko, and freshman Meghan Batzner each scored as well for the Sabres.  Louko closed out with a four-point game adding a pair of assists with her goal.  The Sabres also had assists from a pair of seniors in Jenna Wojahn and Karissa Preston.

Senior Danielle Deltgen (4-5-0) earned the victory in goal for the Sabres stopping both shots she faced in her 51:18 of action.  Freshman Amy Birner also spent 38:42 in goal for Marian.

Marian closes out their home schedule taking on Wisconsin Lutheran at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17.
