Sabre cross country travels to Gene Davis Invitational

APPLETON, Wis. - Marian University cross country competed in their second event in as many weeks traveling to the Gene Davis Invitational.

From the women's side of the race, the Sabres saw a pair of strong runs from Alyssa Zuhlke and Kayla Gregar.  Zuhlke finished in 75th place clocking in at 27:02.71, while Gregar wasn't far behind coming in at 80th with a time of 27:24.30.  Adellie Requena also competed for the Sabre women finishing with a time of 39:07.07.

Carroll won the event with 39 points and were led by Emily Kraus who finished in 23:09 to earn the top individual spot.

Jacob Leiden once again led the way for the Marian men coming in 87th place after recording a time of 30:08.58.  Jarod Silhavy also ran for the Sabres coming in 110th with a time of 37:19.55.

The Pioneers also took the event on the men's side of things but Josh Janusiak of host Lawrence took home the individual title with a time of 25:03.44.

Marian is back in action next weekend traveling to the Wisconsin Private College Championships at Tuscumbia Golf Course.
