It's Thanksgiving Week! We have plenty to be thankful for, like all of you, our most loyal Sabre fans! Let's get you caught up on everything from last week.

Marian took a quick trip to the Wisconsin Dells to take on Augsburg and dropped a thriller by four points.  Marian led by three at halftime but struggled against an Auggie zone defense in the second.  Five different Sabres had double-digit points including senior Alex Vassilakis who went for 14 points and 15 rebounds, seven of which were offensive.

Marian suffered a pair of defeats opening the week against No. 25 WLC before playing Lawrence, both away games.  

NCAA MEN'S HOCKEY

Marian dropped the opener of its series at Dubuque but bounced back nicely with a 5-3 win at home.  Sophomore Brendan Bottom had a hand in four of the six goals on the weekend for the Sabres and had a three-point game in the victory!

WOMEN'S ICE HOCKEY

Marian opened the week with its first award of the season with sophomore Jillian Traver earning NCHA Star of the Week recognition!  Traver then helped lead Marian to a win over Dubuque on the road stopping 29 saves.  The Sabres then secured a sweep behind a multi-goal game from sophomore Zowie Hunter.

The good times kept on rolling for Marian ACHA D2 as the Sabres earned a dominating sweep of St. Norbert behind wins of 13-2 and 6-2.  We'll have those recaps available at sabreathletics.com when we receive both box scores.

Marian had the weekend off but returns home for a pair of home games next weekend!

Marian opened CCIW action going 5-1 at the fall tournament.  The Sabres had the second-highest total for traditional and Baker play, but also had the highest single match total in both formats!

Marian competed at the National Collegiate Classic and we will post those results when we receive them!
