Schliepp, Goo Sun named Sabres of the Month for March

FOND DU LAC - Seniors Trent Goo Sun of Marian University men's volleyball and Ariana Schliepp of Marian University softball have been named the Sabres of the Month for March.

Trent Goo Sun • Senior • Men's Volleyball

Goo Sun (Kalihi, Hawaii) continued a career year as he closes in on the end of his career at Marian.  Goo Sun led the Marian offense with 85 kills, six service aces, and 95.0 points during the month of March.  His versatility also saw him rank second on the team with 60 digs and seven total blocks.  Goo Sun had a pair of double-doubles in March opening the month with 17 kills and 17 digs against Benedictine.  His best match of the month, and season, came in a five-set win over Illinois Tech where he had a career-high 23 kills to go with 11 digs.  

Ariana Schliepp • Senior • Softball

Schliepp (Elkhorn, Wis.) had a dominating start to her final season as a Sabre.  She led Marian in most offensive categories finishing March with a .462 batting average, 18 hits, five doubles, 15 runs driven in, and a 1.057 on-base plus slugging percentage.  Schliepp had eight multi-hit games on the month and drove in a run in nine of the 14 games during the month. She had an especially strong start to conference play going 8-of-9 (.889) at the plate with three doubles, seven runs driven in, and a 2.055 on-base plus slugging percentage.  Her dominance at the plate has Marian sitting atop the NACC standings as the final undefeated squad.

Marian men's volleyball closes out its season Saturday, April 4 taking on Concordia Chicago at 1 p.m., while Sabre softball is scheduled to next host Rockford Tuesday, April 7 at 3 p.m.
