FOND DU LAC - No. 13/15 Marian University men's hockey (6-4-2, 5-2-0 NCHA) scored first but Concordia Wisconsin would rally to defeat the Sabres 2-1.
Sophomore Dylan Hutton lit the lamp for the first time in his career at the 10:26 mark for what proved to be the lone Sabre goal. Junior Mitchell Baumann and sophomore Anthony Orubor each assisted the play.
The Falcons were able to rally taking advantage of a turnover in the Sabre zone to tie the game in the second period, and then CUW netted a power play goal midway through the third to secure the victory.
The Sabres outshot Concordia Wisconsin in each period and finished with a 41-25 advantage in shots. Junior Hunter Vorva took the loss in goal for the Sabres making 23 saves.
Marian returns to action at the Superior Showdown, hosted by UW-Superior, Saturday, December 29 taking on St. Scholastica at 4 p.m. in a non-conference game.
