Brian Ottman took over the men's tennis program in the spring of 2018 and the women's program in the fall of 2018.
"We are fortunate to have Brian lead our men's tennis program," commented Bartelt. "He is a local alumnus that has tremendously helped not only our tennis programs but our entire athletic department the past couple of years. I am extremely confident he will continue to develop our men's tennis program."
Ottman has served as an assistant coach for both the men's and women's tennis programs since 2015. Since he was added to the coaching staff, the women's tennis program has gone to the NACC Tournament semifinals in back-to-back seasons and the men's tennis program posted the most wins since 2010 in 2017.
"I am grateful to have this opportunity to coach the Marian men's tennis program," commented Ottman. "I would like to thank Marcus Wiegert for bringing me on his staff the last two years. Without him, this would not be possible. I look forward to working with the guys to continue to build the program."
A Marian alumni, Ottman earned four varsity letters on the Marian men's tennis team from 2003-07 graduating with a bachelor's degree in sport and recreation management in 2007. In his senior season, Ottman went 9-7 in singles action with seven of his wins coming at No. 2 singles. The Sabres went on to finish tied for second in the NACC that season with a 4-2 conference record.
