Marian University head women's basketball coach Christine Keller has announced the addition of Katie Golomski to the coaching staff as an assistant coach.
"I'm very excited to have Katie on staff," commented Keller. "She has tremendous knowledge of the game, not to mention her experience playing and coaching at the college level. She will be a significant piece to help continue the building our culture."
Golomski joins the Sabre women's basketball program after spending three seasons at Lindenwood University-Belleville as a graduate assistant. During her tenure, the Lynx went on to a combined 55-39 record including a pair of 22-win seasons in her final two seasons. The Lynx qualified for the NAIA National Tournament in those final two seasons but were knocked in the first round both seasons.
"I want to thank coach Keller for giving me the opportunity to be a part of her staff," commented Golomski. "I am excited to continue my coaching career at Marian University."
During her playing career, Golomski was a stand-out at William Penn University connecting on a school-record 268 three-pointers in her career. Her accolades as a Statesman include three honorable mention All-Midwest Collegiate Conference honors along with being named the Midwest Collegiate Conference Newcomer of the Year following her freshman season. Golomski closed out her career 22nd on the all-time scoring list at William Penn with 1,087 points in her career. In the classroom, she was also named to the Midwest Collegiate Conference All-Academic team all four years of her career.
Golomski spent her high school career at Pius XI in Milwaukee, Wis. where she helped lead the 2009-10 squad to a state championship.
