RACINE, Wis. - Marian University women's golf finished sixth at the NACC Championship after shooting a 440, 421, and 416 for a three-round total of 1,277.
Morgan Hernandez led the Sabres in the first two rounds firing a 98 and 92, the lowest round of the tournament for the Sabres, before a final round 99 to finish in 17th place. Not far behind was Jacqueline Ruud who finished in 20th after a 102 and back-to-back 97's with her third-round 97 serving as the lowest Marian score for the round. Kristen Frawley improved by 15 strokes throughout the tournament-opening with a 114 that was eventually whittled down to a 99 to finish in 25th. Shelby Davidson rounded out the lineup for the Sabres after finishing with a 375.
Aurora won the event with a team score of 1,054 earning the conference's automatic bid the NCAA Division III Championship in the spring. Ali Wilson of Lakeland was named the NACC player of the year after finishing with a 257 to earn medalist honors, highlighted by a first-round 83. Gabrielle Flocco of CUW and Bree Borgen shared freshman of the year honors finishing just eight strokes in front of Hernandez.
Marian closes out the fall portion of their season with the WLC Triangular Friday, Oct. 4 from New Berlin Hills Golf Course.
