ADRIAN, Mich. - Marian University women's hockey (10-16-1, 7-11-0 NCHA) fell to No. 2 Adrian by a 5-1 final eliminating the Sabres from NCHA Slaats Cup contention.
Similar to the opening of the series, Adrian was able to come out of the gates fast scoring a pair of goals in the first period and another pair of goals in the second period to take a 4-0 lead into the third period.
The Bulldogs would add a power play goal shortly after to set the final at 5-1.
Despite being outshot 45-24 for the game, MU put together a strong third period and outshot the Bulldogs 10-6. Everson led the way for the Sabres with eight shots on goal.
Sophomore Lindsey Strainis (8-12-1) once again had an impressive night making 40 saves between the pipes for the Sabres.
Marian concludes the season with a program record for wins in a season.
