Jamie Henrickson back tracks for the puck.

STEVENS POINT, Wis. - Marian University women's hockey (2-7-0, 2-4-0 NCHA) fell to UW-Stevens Point 2-1 in a non-conference road game.

Freshman Calle Bye would net her fourth goal of the season at the 16:21 mark, assists to senior Paige Johnson and junior Jill Schneider, in response to a Pointer short handed goal 10-minutes prior.  That would be all the scoring in regulation and it was midway through the extra period that UW-Stevens Point was able to net the game-winner.

Marian would be out shot 30-14 in the loss with junior Lindsey Strainis (2-7-0) stopping 28 shots including all 11 she faced in the first period.  Sophomore Morgan Bolin and senior Ellie Deans each recorded three shots on goal to lead the offense.  In the faceoff circle, Marian would win 27 of the 50 draws led by junior Hailey Miller who had 11 wins.

The Sabre power play had a tough game as they were unable to convert on six man-advantage opportunities along with allowing the short handed goal.

Marian returns to the ice when they travel to Finlandia Friday, December 1 for a 6:15 p.m. puck drop.
