Marian women's soccer tabbed eighth in tight NACC preseason poll

MILWAUKEE - Marian University women's soccer picked up 187 total votes putting the Sabres in eighth in the NACC preseason poll, as voted on by the head coaches and sports information directors of the league.

Dominican was a near-unanimous selection to repeat as the NACC champion receiving 337 total votes and 25 of the 26 first-place votes.  Illinois Tech was next in the poll receiving 301 points and the final first-place vote in the poll.  Concordia Wisconsin and MSOE finished third and fourth, respectively, with the fifth through eighth spots being decided by only 16 points.

Marian was able to reach the NACC tournament for a second-consecutive season a year ago and reached the NACC tournament semifinals for the first time since 2013. 

The top six teams in the final regular-season standings will qualify for the NACC tournament, which opens with a pair of first-round games Sunday, Nov. 3. Semifinals are slated for Wednesday, Nov. 6, and the championship for Saturday, Nov. 9. The NACC Tournament champion will receive the league's automatic berth in the 2019 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship.
