Sabre women's tennis drops nail biter 5-4 to Lawrence

FOND DU LAC - Marian University women's tennis (2-1, 2-0 NACC) fell to Lawrence by a 5-4 final in non-conference action.

Marian would fall behind early dropping two of the three doubles matches.  Kyrsten Bruce and Carly Paulson earned the only Marian doubles win by an 8-5 score at the No. 2 flight. 

The Sabres were able to battle back in singles action taking the top two flights. Emma Lewandowski needed a third-set tiebreak to take the top flight 1-6, 6-1, 10-8, while Mackenzie Meyers swept her opponent at the No. 2 flight 6-2, 6-2.  The final singles win for Marian came at the No. 6 flight where Sarah Mereness only dropped one set at 6-1, 6-0.

Marian hits the road Sunday, Sept. 15 when the Sabres take on Lakeland at 10 a.m.
