Marian volleyball struggles against Aurora

FOND DU LAC, Wis. - Marian University women's volleyball (4-10, 1-3 NACC) fell to Aurora in straight sets with set finals of 25-21, 25-17 and 25-15 to close out the weekend.

MU hung around in the opening set leading 10-9 to open the match, which later turned into a 14-14 tie.  Aurora then went on a 7-2 run for their first marginal lead of the set and the Spartans were able to hold on for the set win.  The Spartans jumped out to an early 10-3 lead in the second set and a 9-2 run in the middle of the third set allowed Aurora to complete the sweep of Marian.

Marian would hit .250 in the second set with 11 kills to four errors and had13 kills in the opening set.  Sophomore Amber Yahr led the Sabres with eight kills, nine assists and seven digs.  Freshman Cheyenne Henson also had six kills and a team-high eight digs.

Marian closes out a six-match homestand against Beloit Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. from Sadoff Gym.
