MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Marian women's tennis team went 5-1 in singles action and cruised to a 6-3 win over MSOE (4-7, 4-3 NACC) Tuesday afternoon in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference action at McKinley Marina Courts.
In No. 1 singles Meg Hartzell won 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 and Alissa Heid followed that up with a convincing 6-0, 6-1 victory in No. 2 singles.
In No. 4 singles Melissa Spannbauer cruised to a 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 win and in No. 5 singles Celeste Degeneffee dominated 6-1, 6-2. To close out singles action, Samantha Smits rolled to a 6-3, 6-1 victory.
The No. 1 doubles squad consisting of Hartzell and Degeneffe cruised to an 8-2 win.
The Sabres (5-5, 4-4 NACC) return to the tennis court Wednesday for a match at Lawrence.
