FOND DU LAC, Wis. – Sophomore Andrea Krahenbuhl (No. 3 singles) defeated UW-Oshkosh's Frances Witt 6-1, 6-0 to pick up the win Thursday afternoon at Buttermilk Creek Park. The Sabres and Titans matched up well, but UWO was able to win the match 8-1.
Freshman Mackenzie Meyers (No. 1 singles) was swept 6-0, 6-0 and Alissa Heid (No. 2 singles) dropped a 6-1, 6-1 decision.
Sophomore Celeste Degeneffe (No. 4 singles) suffered a 6-2, 6-4 setback and Kristin Houle (No. 5 singles) was upended 6-1, 6-0. Senior Melissa Spannbauer (No. 6 singles) narrowly lost a 6-3, 6-4 decision.
The Sabres were swept in doubles action.
Heid and Degeneffe (No. 1 doubles) fell 8-5 and Meyers and Houle (No. 2 doubles) lost 8-1. Mati Kissack and Alyssa Ostrowski (No. 3 doubles) fell by a score of 8-2.
MU returns to action Friday, Sept. 30 vs. Beloit and the YMCA Family Center in Oshkosh.
