OSHKOSH, Wis. -In the first ever home tennis playoff match in Marian history, No. 4 Marian University women's tennis (11-8, 6-3 NACC) took care of business sweeping No. 5 Aurora 5-0.
The Sabres jumped ahead quickly in the match taking all three doubles in convincing fashion. The No. 1 duo of Meg Hartzell and Celeste Degeneffe took their match 8-1, while the No. 2 doubles team of Mackenzie Meyers and Alissa Heid also earned an 8-1 victory. The No. 3 doubles duo of Kristin Houle and Alyssa Ostrowski secured the sweep with an 8-2 win.
The Sabres would only need No. 3 singles and No. 4 singles to secure the win with Andrea Krahenbuhl at No. 4 sweeping her match 6-0, 6-0 and Heid only dropping one game at No. 3 winning 6-0, 6-1.
Marian will travel to Madison, Wis. Sunday, May 7 with their opponent to be determined in another NACC Quarterfinal match up later tonight between No. 3 Alverno and No. 6 MSOE.
