PLAYERS TO WATCH

#7 • Cole Carlson • Senior • Forward

Cole Carlson is one of the top returning scorers for the Sabres after scoring 10 goals with 11 assists for 21 total points.  Carlson was one of six student-athletes that played in all 27 games.  He scored five goals on special teams with four power-play scores and one short-handed tally.  He also had the overtime game-winning goal at home against Lawrence to secure a five-point weekend and the Battle of Highway 41 trophy.  Carlson earned Star of the Week recognition for that series against Lawrence after scoring three goals with two assists.  He also had a multi-point game at home against Dubuque at home scoring a goal with an assist.

#14 • Nolan Flint • Senior • Forward

Nolan Flint had a strong season and will look to end his Marian career on a high note.  Flint served as the captain a season ago appearing in 26 games where he scored 10 goals with 11 assists for 21 total points.  He had multiple points in four games including a four-point game at home against MSOE where he had a pair of goals and a pair of assists.  Flint also had a pair of assists in the season opener against Saint John's (Minn.).  He scored four of his goals on the power play.  On faceoffs, he had a winning percentage with 275 victories.

#1 • Nicholas Von Kaufmann • Junior • Goalie

Nicholas Von Kaufmann spent the most time in net for the Sabres last season going 5-6-2 with a 3.36 goals against average and .887 save percentage.  Von Kaufmann had at least 30 saves in three games with a season-high 44 coming at No. 4/4 St. Norbert.  He won four straight games allowing just five goals where he made 92 saves with a .948 save percentage. Von Kaufmann posted his first shutout stopping all 29 shots he saw in an overtime win at MSOE.  He also assisted the game-winning goal in that victory over the Raiders.  He added a second assist on the overtime game-winning goal at CUW.

HOME OF MARIAN HOCKEY

The Blue Line Family Ice Center is home to many hockey teams in Fond du Lac, including Marian University. Blue Line has two rinks in the building. Marian plays the majority of their home games on Rink A, which is an Olympic size sheet of ice. Rink B is a regulation sheet of ice. 

Both NCAA teams have a state-of-the-art locker room equipped with 29 locker room stalls, a 102" HD projection TV, DirecTV with the NHL package, a stereo, video equipment, and two refrigerators.
