Four Sabres earn recognition from the CCIW

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Four student-athletes from the Marian University women's bowling program have earned recognition from the CCIW.

Addison Jacak (West Bend, Wis.) earns First Team All-CCIW recognition for the first time in her career and second All-CCIW selection to highlight the awards.  Jacak paced the Sabres most of the season and enters the CCIW Championship averaging 188.5 pins over 53 games.  She earned three top-five finishes during the season and in seven of 11 events placed inside the top-25.  Her best weekend came at the Valparaiso Bowling Classic where she averaged 209.6 pins over five games to finish second overall.  This would earn Jacak a CCIW Bowler of the Week award.

Jenna Betts (Clare, Mich.) earns All-CCIW recognition for a third straight season being named to the second team.  Betts has averaged 182.2 pins over 40 games so far this season with four top-25 finishes.  She was the individual champion at the fourth GLBC event of the season after averaging 224.3 pins over six games.  This would earn Betts a CCIW Bowler of the Week award.  Betts also had a ninth-place finish at the third GLBC event of the year.

Brenna Schiekiera (Waukesha, Wis.) earns Second Team All-CCIW recognition for a second straight season.  No Sabre has bowled more than Schiekiera this season as she has averaged 187.4 pins over 57 games.  She has had three top-five finishes and placed inside the top-25 of seven of the 11 events she has competed in.  She averaged more than 190 pins at five events with her top performance coming at the fourth GLBC event.  She would finish fourth at that event averaging 211.0 pins over six games.

Jazmin Koeberl (West Bend, Wis.) has had a dominating finish to the season and is the Marian RESPECT award winner.  Koeberl has averaged 179.8 pins over 52 games.  She became just the second Sabre in program history to qualify for the USBC Intercollegiate Singles Championship after finishing third at the qualifying event.  The CCIW RESPECT award recognizes the intangible traits a student-athlete possesses that exemplify great character and encourages inclusiveness and a positive culture.

Marian travels to DeKalb, Ill. for the CCIW Championship March 24-26.  The Sabres will look to earn their third CCIW Tournament Championship and the first automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament the conference has been allowed to grant.
