NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Marian University women's bowling has been picked as the favorite to win the CCIW according to the preseason poll.
The Sabres picked up three first-place votes and finished with 33 points to edge out Carroll who also had three first-place votes but only 30 points. Not far behind was Aurora at 26 points. Carthage and Elmhurst were separated by just one point with the Blue Jays grabbing a first-place tally. Augustana and Illinois Wesleyan rounded out the CCIW preseason poll.
The CCIW season consists of a fall tournament to be held Nov. 22-23 and a spring tournament Feb. 28 to March 1. The CCIW Tournament will then be held March 20-22.
Marian opens its season Oct. 10-12 at the UWW Warhawk Classic.
