Touw, Brenner named Sabres of the Month for September

FOND DU LAC - Charlotte Touw of Marian University field hockey and Brady Brenner of Marian University men's golf have been named the Sabres of the Month for September.

Touw (Utrecht, Netherlands) showed no signs of a sophomore slump getting out to a dominating start.  She helped lead Marian to a 5-2 start to the season scoring at least one goal in all but one game.  Touw totaled nine goals to go with three assists on the month for a total of 21 points.  Three of her goals proved to be the game-winning score.  She had three multi-goal games ending the month with back-to-back multi-goal performances against Wooster and Kenyon.  She had a nine-point weekend between the wins over the Fighting Scots and Owls earning her a CFHC Offensive Player of the Week award.  Touw enters October ranked 10th in the nation for points per game and 13th in the country for goals per game.

Brenner (Calgary, Alberta) had a strong start to his first full season with the Sabre men's golf program.  He finished September with a 74.4 stroke average over seven rounds posting the top four rounds for the team.  He had a pair of rounds where he was just one-over par with the first coming at the second round of the Culver's Edgewood Fall Invitational and the second at the opening round of the Midwest Region Classic.  Brenner also went just two-over par at both rounds of the WLC Fall Invitational.  This earned him a 14th-place finish at the event, his best finish for the month.

Marian men's golf travels to The Grand Intercollegiate October 4-5, while Sabre field hockey hits the road for CUW to open CFHC play Saturday, Oct. 3.
