Marian University Student-Athletes of the Year
Biography
Brittany Syms started in all 19 games last season as a midfielder on the Marian women’s soccer team that was able to qualify for the NACC Tournament.
Syms led the Sabres with a career-high 12 goals and added three assists for a team-high 27 points. Syms produced game-winning goals against Wisconsin Lutheran (Sept. 30), where she also had a hat trick, Concordia Chicago (Oct. 4), and Alverno (Oct. 22).
She also was able to have multiple points in eight different contests with four or more points in three of those games. Her break out season would earn her second team All-NACC recognition after being named first team All-NACC in 2013.
She also had a career year on the ice for the Marian University women’s hockey team. She scored seven goals on the year with a career-high eight assists for a total of 15 points. Syms had multiple point games against Trinity (Conn.) and St. Scholastica
