Cullen Liberski POY

MILWAUKEE - Seniors Jon Smallpage and Cullen Liberski of Marian University men's volleyball have been named first team All-NACC with Liberski also being named the Defensive Player of the Year announced the league office Wednesday.

Liberski (Germantown, Wis.) earns his second Defensive Player of the Year award after being named the MCVL Defensive Player of the Year as a sophomore.  Liberski led not only the NACC but the entire nation in digs per set during the regular season finishing with 4.02 digs per set and 346 total digs.  He closes out an incredible career that saw him set an NCAA Division III all-time record for digs with 1,316, and is set to become the NCAA Division III all-time leader for digs per set with 3.53 at the conclusion of the season.  Liberski posted 20 double-digit dig performances this season with five of those matches seeing hime record 20 or more digs.   A 27-dig performance against then-ranked No. 9 Benedictine proved to be his season-high in a four-set loss for the Sabres.  This is the third time Liberski has been named all-conference in his career but the first time he has been named to the first team.
