CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Sophomore libero Cullen Liberski has been named the Defensive Player of the Year for the MCVL announced the league office Wednesday.
Liberski (Germantown, Wis.), a second team All-MCVL honoree, finished the regular season ranked second in the nation, atop the MCVL, with a 3.80 digs per set average. The Sabre libero recorded double-digit digs in all but five matches in the season and eclipsed 20 digs four times including a season-high 23 digs in a four-set win over Wittenberg. Liberski was named MCVL Defensive Player of the Week twice during the season.
