Biography
GREENSBORO, N.C. - Tony Grannis was named Third Team All-Region as a utility player by the American Baseball Coaches Association after being a consistent bat in the Sabre lineup all season long.
Grannis was the only player to start all 40 games this season for Marian and produced a .305/.379/.396 slash line. Tony led MU with 47 hits, 21 runs scored, 10 doubles, two triples, 15 walks, and six stolen bases, while also ranking second on the team with 24 runs batted in.Â
The senior utility player opened his senior season with an 11-game hitting streak and led the Sabres with 13 multi-hit games. Grannis also drove in multiple runs in five games.
Defensively, Grannis saw action at four different positions producing an .879 fielding percentage ranking second on the squad with 55 assists.
This is the second consecutive season Grannis has been named All-Region by the ABCA after being named second team as a third baseman last year.
