High School: Competed in bowling, soccer, basketball, and baseball while attending Omro High School. Served as a captain on the bowling team qualifying for state twice. Set records for most strikes in a match, most total strikes in a match, most strikes in a row, best fill percentage in a match, best fill percentage overall, highest fill percentage for a year, best first ball score for a match, and best first ball score for a season. Was selected as a bowling All-Star twice. In soccer, he led the conference in saves for two seasons setting a single-game record for saves with 20.
