The 2013 season marks the fourthfor Jason Murphy as head coach of the women's soccer team. In 2012,he added the title of Director of Athletics and leads anever-growing athletic department at Marian University. Murphy has31 wins in his first three seasons with the Sabres, the second-mostfor a Marian head coach over the same time frame.

Murphy's squad went 9-9 in 2012 with a 9-3 record in league play,good for the fourth seed in what was Marian's fifth straight NACTournament appearance. Six Sabres earned All-NAC honors, headlinedby Laura Maly's first team selection. Caitlyn Rosenberger, LeisaConn and Morgan Ansems earned second team honors, while JamieAnderson and Alyson Fisher were named to the All-Freshmansquad.

In 2011, Murphy guided the Sabres to a program record-tying wintotal after a 13-7 season in 2011. He also led the squad to theprogram's first conference championship game appearance. The Sabresearned the second seed in the NAC Tournament after going 10-2 inleague play. They fell to top-seeded Aurora on the road, the onlyobstacle stopping them short of the program's first NCAA Tournamentappearance.

Seven of his players received All-NAC recognition, including threeplayers to the first team in Mollie Tennessen, Chloe Kierszh andCaitlyn Rosenberger. Murphy was also named NAC Coach of the Yearfor the team's success. Rosenberger earned NSCAA All-Central RegionThird Team accolades after compiling an 11-4 overall record and aleague-leading .857 save percentage.

In first season with the Sabres in 2010, Murphy led the Sabres toa 9-8-1 overall record and finished 7-4-1 in the Northern AthleticsConference. His team made an appearance in the 2010 NAC Tournament.He also coached the NAC Offensive Player-of-the-Year in KimKriese.

Murphy came to Marian after spending two years as an assistantcoach at the University of Chicago. At Chicago, Murphy assisted inall aspects of the women's soccer program, including recruitingperspective student-athletes, practice planning and implementation.He helped guide the Maroons to a 28-10-3 record the past twoseasons and were consistently ranked in the NCAA Division III Top25. The Maroons twice qualified for the NCAA Tournament and made aSweet 16 and round of 32 appearances in 2008 and 2009,respectively.

Murphy, a 2004 graduate of UW-Stevens Point, was an assistantcoach for UW-Stevens Point in 2003 and 2004. He helped lead thePointers to an overall record of 31-8-5, including winning twoconference tournament championships and one regular seasonchampionship. The Pointers made two NCAA Tournament appearances in2003 and 2004.

Murphy earned a Master's degree in Sport Administration from UW-LaCrosse in 2007. He has also earned his National and AdvancedNational coaching licenses from the National Soccer CoachesAssociation of America (NSCAA). Additionally, he completed hisNSCAA State and Regional Goalkeeper licenses in 2007.

Murphy, an Appleton native, and his wife, Cindy, currently residein Fond du Lac.
