(Milwaukee, WI) - Marian University went on the road on Friday evening and defeated MSOE 3-1. The Sabres scored twice in the third period to break a 1-1 tie and earn the victory. Marian is now 2-2 overall and 1-2 in the MCHA. These two teams will meet up again tomorrow evening in Fond du Lac.
Marian got on the board first as Dakota Dubetz (Chestermore, AB) scored his first collegiate goal at the 5:12 mark in the first period. His power play goal was assisted by Brendan Roberts (Calgary, AB) and Tommy Fitzpatrick (Ft. McMurray, AB). The Raiders answered with a power play goal of their own just three minutes later to even the game.
After a scoreless second period, Marian's Brendan Hull (Calgary, AB) got things going as he scored off an assist from Roberts at the 5:41 mark in the third. He would later add an insurance goal in the 12th minute to make it 3-1. He leads the Sabres with four goals this season.
Marian was out-shot 35-30, but Alex Bjerk (Roseau, MN) was up to the task, as he recorded 34 saves.
Marian was 1-for-4 on the power play, while the Raiders were 1-for-8.
