(Fond du Lac, WI) - Marian University defeated Finlandia University 4-2 for the second time in as many nights, earning the sweep of the Lions. The Sabres have now swept two consecutive series, as they took a pair of games from MSOE last weekend.
Marian scored once in the first, twice in second and another in the third period, with the Lions scoring once in the second and once in the third period.
Marian's Adam Freeman (Wauwatosa, WI) scored his third goal of the season in the first period with just :58 remaining.
In the second, Todd Collins (Whitby, ON) scored a shorty just :48 into the period to make it 2-0. After a Lion goal, Brendan Hull (Calgary, AB) scored his seventh goal of the season off assists from Dakota Dubetz (Chestermore, AB) and Brendan Roberts (Calgary, AB).
In the third, the Lions scored to make it 3-2, but Nick Cinquegrani (Rolling Meadows, IL) put the game away with a power play goal at the 14:16 mark. Nathan Brummitt (Calgary, AB) and Tommy Fitzpatrick (Ft. McMurray, AB) assisted on the goal.
Alex Bjerk (Roseau, MN) recorded 18 saves in the contest.
