MSOE gets the best of Marian

Box Score (Milwaukee, WI) - Carol Cayo's double-double helped lead MSOE to a 62-38 victory over Marian University on Saturday afternoon. Cayo posted 19 points and 19 rebounds to help end Marian's two-game winning-streak.

Marian (3-5, 1-4 NAC) led early on in the contest, but the Raiders took the lead for good at the 11:54 mark and never trailed the rest of the way. The Raiders went to the locker room with a 27-16 lead.

The Raiders shot 33% from the field in the half and held Marian to just 23% from the field.

In the second half, Marian cut the deficit to 35-26 with 15:05 to play, but the Raiders quickly went on an 8-0 run over the next 2:09 to take a seventeen-point lead. The Sabres were never able to cut the deficit to less than twelve the rest of the way.

Brooke Haen (Oakfield, WI) led the Sabres with 16 points, while Alexis Becker (North Fond du Lac, WI) chipped in 11. Emily Reiter (Hilbert, WI) led the team with 9 rebounds.

The Raiders (5-4, 4-1 NAC) held a 54-30 advantage on the boards in the contest, while holding Marian to just 24% shooting from the field.

Marian is back in action next weekend as they will participate in the Franklin College Tournament. They open up Friday against Franklin at 6:00 PM EST.
