Box Score (Fond du Lac, WI) - Marian University defeated Dominican University 75-71 on Saturday afternoon to earn their first Northern Athletics Conference victory. Marian is now 2-4 overall and 1-3 in the NAC.

The Sabres built a 41-31 lead in the first half as they shot 44% from the field. They also forced the Stars into 10 first half turnovers. Alexis Becker (North Fond du Lac, WI) and Jordan Dykstra (Cedar Grove, WI) each had 12 points in the half. Emily Reiter (Hilbert, WI) added 7 rebounds in the half.

In the second, the Stars battled back and tied the game at 56-56 with 7:32 to play. Trailing 59-58 with 6:22 to play, Marian took over. The Sabres went on a 9-0 run over the next 4:18 to build a 68-59 lead. The Stars chipped away, but never got any closer than four points the rest of the way.

Dykstra led a balanced scoring attack for the Sabres with 20 points. Becker finished with 18 points, while Reiter and Brooke Haen (Oakfield, WI) both added 12 points.

Reiter finished with 13 rebounds, while Becker finished with 7 assists.

Marian shot 27-for-63 (43%) from the field. The Stars had a slight, 48-45 advantage on the boards.

Marian is back in action again on Thursday, as they will play at Moody Baptist Bible College.
