(Fond du Lac, WI) - Finlandia University scored a goal in all three periods en route to a 3-0 victory over Marian University on Saturday afternoon. The Lions (3-6, 1-3 NCHA) outshot the Sabres (1-4, 1-1 NCHA) 32-29 in the contest and were 1-for-5 on the power play to aid in the victory.

Nicole Schumacher scored a power play goal at the 15:01 mark in the first period and then scored at the 9:34 mark in the second period to give the Lions a 2-0 lead. Kendra Benson assisted on both goals.

In the third, Kelly Poelstra scored just :59 into the period to put the game away. Alisha Ellerston assisted on the tally.

Marian's Kaytlin Ruzicka (Wauconda, IL) stopped 29 shots in the defeat.

Marian is back in action again on Friday, as they will play at UW-Eau Claire.
