(Chicago, IL) - The Sabres dropped all four matches this past weekend at the North Park University Invite. The Sabres fell 3-1 to Illinois College and 3-2 to North Park University on Friday and then fell 3-0 to Otterbein College and 3-0 to North Central College on Saturday.
In their opening match against Illinois College the Sabres fell 19-25, 17-25, 25-19, 22-25. Kelsey Westerveld (Holmen, WI) led the Sabre attack with 8 kills, while Michielah Navis (Waupun, WI) led the team in assists (24) and digs (20).
In their 25-23, 8-25, 17-25, 25-22, 9-15 loss to the hosts, Carlie Kinsey (Waukesha, WI) recorded 9 kills. Navis dished out 25 assists and Westerveld led the team with 26 digs. Amy Malcore (Luxemburg, WI) recorded 6 blocks in the contest.
On Saturday, Marian opened up with a 25-12, 25-20, 25-17 loss to Otterbein College. Westerveld recorded 8 kills, while Navis added 14 assists and 16 digs.
In their finale, the Sabres fell 25-14, 25-14, 25-12 to North Central College. North Central stayed undefeated with the victory as they are now 10-0. Westerveld led the team with 11 kills, while Navis recorded 15 assists and 12 digs.
