Box Score (Fond du Lac, WI) - The Sabres scored seven goals in the second period on Wednesday evening en route to a 9-2 victory over Lakeland College. With the victory, the Sabres moved to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the Northern Athletics Conference. A highlight in the contest came in the second half as junior
Kim Kriese (Stevens Point, WI) became just the fifth player in school history to record at least 100 points in a career. Kriese finished the game with a goal and a pair of assists.
Marian jumped out to a 2-1 lead in the first half as Sara Hoffman (Wisconsin Rapids, WI) and Carly Saunders (Wisconsin Rapids, WI) each scored goals. Hoffman also assisted on Saunders goal.
Then, in the second period, the Sabres blew it open as Brittany Graham (Alvin, WI), Taylor Hozeska (Hartford, WI), Cassandra Crawford (Wales, WI), Sohaila Akhavein (Oshkosh, WI), Kate Koffman (Eden, WI), Kriese, and Hoffman all recorded goals. For Hoffman, Hozeska, Crawford, Akhavein, and Koffman it marked their first goals of the season.
Tiffany Erdman (Wausau, WI) and Jordan Dykstra (Cedar Grove, WI) split time in goal as Erdman recorded the only save of the game for Marian.
The Sabres had an incredible 44-8 advantage in the shots in the contest.
Marian is back in action on Saturday, as they will play at Dominican University.
